Game Thread 3/25: Rangers at Kings
On the road in LA.
The Rangers begin their last real road trip of the season tonight in Los Angeles against the Kings before playing the Ducks tomorrow and the Sharks on Tuesday. After this road trip the Rangers will host the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Garden on Friday.
That will be a game that every Rangers fan should have circled on their calendar.
The Blueshirts last played the Kings on Jan. 23rd at Madison Square Garden. Brandon Pirri, Matt Puempel and Mats Zuccarello gave the Rangers three goals at home ice to trump goals by Jordan Nolan and Kyle Clifford. Henrik Lundqvist made 36 saves that night in New York.
The Kings are desperate for points, but they haven't been playing that way. They are currently outside of the playoffs and looking in, 8 points away from the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
