Game Thread: Rangers vs Senators
One losing streak comes to an end tonight at the Garden
Tonight the Rangers are hoping to snap a two-game losing streak against the 9-11-3 Ottawa Senators. Ottawa is 4-5-1 in their last 10 games and is coming into the Garden tonight with a brutal record on the road and a three-game losing streak.
Leading the way for the Senators this season has been Matt Duchene. Duchene has 10 goals and 19 assists in 23 games, but he isn’t the Ottawa player that everyone has been talking about. Defenseman Thomas Chabot has six goals and 21 assists and is currently the highest-scoring blueliner in the league. To put Chabot’s production into context: the Rangers’ highest scoring defender is Neal Pionk with 15 points.
Craig Anderson will be starting in net for Ottawa and Henrik Lundqvist is the Rangers’ likely starter. Tim Gettinger was recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack yesterday. He played 7:00 in his regular season debut against the Capitals on Nov. 24.
