Garand, Raddysh Clear Waivers, Will Report to Hartford
Garand avoided a waiver claim, and Raddysh is back in the AHL for the first time in six years. Next up is Vincent Iorio's status.
As initially reported yesterday, the New York Rangers have made most of their final roster cuts by placing Dylan Garand and Taylor Raddysh on waivers. While there was valid concern for Garand being claimed, the Rangers lucked out as both players have officially cleared and will report to the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack.

FWIW, the concerns about losing Dylan Garand to waivers were valid. Winnipeg was looking for a goalie and opted to claim Clay Stevenson from Washington over Garand, and Vancouver and Jersey both claimed goalies earlier in camp.

The Rangers can breath a sigh of relief.
Garand will continue his development as Hartford's starting goaltender with Spencer Martin and Callum Tung behind him. As for Taylor Raddysh, he will be a welcome addition to Hartford's forward group. It's been six years since Raddysh last spent time in the AHL as he collected 29 points in 27 games with the Syracuse Crunch back in 2020-21. The two seasons prior, Raddysh put up 35 and 46 point seasons with the Crunch.
The last domino that needs to fall for the Rangers' opening night roster is Vincent Iorio, who was injured in the first game of preseason. Iorio did skate in a red non-contact jersey today and is currently the extra skater with 24 players currently under contract. The Rangers have until 5:00 p.m. this evening to waive him or place him on IR.
