Hall of Fame Writer, Long-Time New York Post Columnist Larry Brooks Dead at 75

Larry Brooks, the hall of fame writer and longtime columnist at the New York Post, has died at the age of 75 after a battle with cancer.
Former President of the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association, Brooks was one of the most respected and revered writers in all of sports. Initially joining the Post in 1975, Brooks spent two separate tenures with the renowned publication across four decades. He began covering the New York Yankees before shifting to hockey where he spent time with the Islanders, Rangers and Devils organizations. Between 1982-1992, Brooks served as the New Jersey Devils’ Senior Vice President of Communications.
In 2018, Brooks was recognized by the Hockey Hall of Fame as he was named recipient of the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award.
