Help us Make Blueshirt Banter Better

I've been wanting to write something like this for quite some time and figured that there was no better time to write it and get feedback from you guys than right now, in the dog days of summer. I bother Joe a lot with emails and text messages about how I think Blueshirt Banter could be better and throw all kinds of ideas at him (most of them aren't worth the time it takes to type them out). One of the ideas that keeps resurfacing and is something that I firmly believe in is that we should look to you guys, our readers, as a resource. I read the comments here literally everyday and I'm almost always pleased and proud of the never ending hockey discourse and the sense of community we have built together. But as great as the Banter is right now I know that we could be better.

Writing for Blueshirt Banter is a passion project for me and has been ever since Jim Schmiedeberg asked me to join the writing staff in early January of 2011. What a dark day in Banter history that was. Ever since then I've gone from pretending to know what I'm doing writing about hockey and clumsily trying to find ways to contribute to feeling annoyed when I don't get to write and unable to stop thinking about ways that we can make this place better.

It's my opinion that the community that we have here is something that I want to foster and support, which is why we're doing our best to make the Banter meet-up a reality. We have all kinds of other ideas in the works and are looking forward to bring you all the very best Rangers coverage for the upcoming season and continue to make Blueshirt Banter THE place to talk Rangers hockey. Part of achieving that goal is listening to you guys and answering any questions you might have.

Please use this thread to ask questions you've always wanted to ask about how and why we do the things we do on the Banter. Ask us questions about the community guidelines, ask us about what got us into writing, ask us why we do what we do and how we do it, ask us anything you've ever wanted to ask us.

We would also love to hear any thoughts, ideas, or constructive criticism you might have about how the Banter can better serve you guys. Let us know what you'd like to see more of and what you'd like to see less of. Let us know how we can continue to encourage and build the sense of community here and share your ideas with us. The Banter is constantly growing and does very well in terms of site traffic and all of that gobbledygook but that doesn't mean it can't be better. Please, help us make this place better for you and share your questions, opinions, suggestions, ideas, and thoughts with us here. We'd love to hear them. You guys complete us.
