Henrik Lundqvist Injured, MacKenzie Skapski Called Up

Some ... interesting news before the game tonight.

The good news: We finally get to talk about something aside from which capable player is sitting for Tanner Glass before a game!

The bad news: It's a Henrik Lundqvist injury.

Lundqvist is out today with an upper body injury that Alain Vigneault admitted was not a concussion but did have to do with being hit in the throat with the puck against Carolina last Saturday. The Rangers have called up MacKenzie Skapski to back up Cam Talbot, who will get the nod tonight.

Right now there's not a lot of information about what's wrong with Lundqvist, which makes it a little scary. The positive side of me says Lundqvist played on Monday and seemed to be fine, so hopefully this is just the Rangers being safe, rather than a lingering issue.

In any case, it will be good for Skapski to get a taste of life in the NHL. If you need more on him check out Adam's prospects rankings. He sits pretty high.
