Injury Report: Kevin Klein Out Indefinitely

Kevin Klein has been listed as out indefinitely with a fractured thumb.

Late into the third period of last night's game in Newark, Kevin Klein took a slash to the left hand and was shoved from the back into the boards by Reid Boucher. Upon hitting the ice, Klein threw his left glove off in pain and shook his hand, with a look of agony on his face.

Klein immediately went to the bench and down the tunnel to the locker room, accompanied by Head Athletic Trainer Jim Ramsay.

The Rangers have announced today that Kevin Klein is sidelined indefinitely after suffering a fractured thumb. No news on a timetable has been released at this point. The hole in the lineup will almost certainly be filled by Dylan McIlrath, who has played in two games since January 1st, being a healthy scratch in 10 out of 12 games. With Rick Nash still recovering from a bone bruise, the team will have to find a way to rally while missing two very important pieces.
