New York Rangers Game Thread: 10/14, Isles at Rangers

... Just don't lose too badly.

Game Three, the Islanders at the Rangers

I'm not going to talk about what happened on Sunday night. I care only about what happens tonight and that Rick Nash is off to a great start to the season. It's time for some of the secondary scorers (who aren't named Lee Stempniak) to start getting the puck in the net and get involved in the offense. The bad decisions with the puck, the turnovers, the defensive lapses, the crappy efforts and ideas by some very important players... it all added up to a pretty awful weekend of Rangers hockey.

Here's hoping that the Blueshirts are a .500 team at the end of the night. And that they score nine goals to make up for what we all had to suffer through this weekend.

Mike's Player to Watch: Henrik Lundqvist

Hank is a very proud professional athlete and he isn't going to want to make fans wait too long before they get to see the real Henrik Lundqvist. the six goal shelling he took on Sunday night was not entirely his fault but most of the blame does lie with him and the Rangers' blue line. I expect Hank to bounce back tonight and give the Rangers a chance to win against a very dangerous and hot Islanders team.

Quick thought: who is Brock Nelson and how is he doing this?

After tonight's game the Rangers play the Carolina Hurricanes Thursday night in yet another Metropolitan Division showdown. These divisional games do matter more, even in the infancy of the regular season, here's hoping that the Rangers can pick up some points over the next two games.

Let's go Rangers.
