The New York Rangers will look to extend their series lead tonight as they welcome in the Pittsburgh Penguins for Game 2 at Madison Square Garden. Last game, the Rangers were able to come away with a 2-1 victory after they scored two quick goals in the first period. The Penguins responded during the second half of the game, but the Rangers did an excellent job of limiting their high quality chances.
It's pretty evident that Game 2's at home have always been an issue over the years for the Rangers, and they will look to change that this evening. The Penguins obviously weren't very good during the early stages of Game 1, so the Rangers will need to be ready for a strong push from the Penguins tonight.
The Rangers are expected to keep their lineup untouched, which means Kevin Klein will remain out of the lineup with a broken arm. One bright spot is that Dan Girardi will be in the lineup tonight after taking a puck to the face late in Game 1, and never returning. On the other side, the Penguins will be without Christian Ehrhoff and Derrick Pouliot once again as they remain day-to-day with their respective injuries.
Tonight will definitely be another good one, and hopefully the Rangers can make it a little easier on themselves with another win.
Bryan's Player to Watch: J.T. Miller
J.T. Miller was all over the ice last game against the Penguins, and brought along his physical presence as well. Miller also had a few golden scoring opportunities as the third line continued its dominance in the offensive zone. If the third line, along with Miller can put up a similar performance, they will give the Penguins fits all over the ice again tonight.
