The New York Rangers will look to rebound tonight against the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 3, after they put up a poor effort on Saturday night during Game 2. Over the last two games, the Penguins have gifted the Rangers 12 different power plays, and only two of those chances have gone answered. Special teams have been a big part of this series for both teams so far, and the Rangers stagnant power play was one of several reasons for failure in Game 2.
The Rangers know they need to be better in certain areas, and luckily, a majority of these mistakes are self inflicted wounds that can easily be corrected. Barring any last minute adjustments by Alain Vigneault, the Rangers are expected to go with the same lineup tonight as they did in Game 2.
Bryan's Player to Watch: Rick Nash
Rick Nash notched his first goal of the playoffs late in the game on Saturday, but it was too little too late for the Rangers to build off of it. However, that goal was huge in terms of boosting Nash's confidence, and it can only bode well for him moving forward. Nash has been a monster during the first two games, and the only thing sorely missing from his game was the goal scoring. Hopefully that goal on Saturday broke the ice, and finally gets him going again in the playoffs.
