The New York Rangers gave themselves another chance after they defeated the Washington Capitals 2-1 in overtime in Game 5. As the time ticked down on the Rangers season on Friday, the Rangers found a way to save their season, and extend by at least one more game thanks to Ryan McDonagh.

This series has shown flashes of the Pittsburgh series last year, where the Rangers needed that big win in order to start their magical run and fighting back after being down 3-1. Step one is complete after the Rangers stole Game 5 from right under the Capitals, and they will have another chance this evening.
