New York Rangers Game Thread: Rangers Vs. Oilers

Let's go Rangers.

The Copper & Blue | New York Rangers schedule | Wild Card Race

The Rangers saw their six-game winning streak come to an end in Calgary on Friday night but are looking for some more luck in the province of Alberta tonight against the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers are 4-51 in their last ten games and are currently the second worst team in hockey if we determine such things by point totals (the lowly Sabres are in last place). The Rangers are 6-4-0 in their last ten and are looking to start another winning streak tonight against Edmonton. The last time these two teams met Ben Scrivens helped the Oilers beat the Rangers with 35 saves in a 2-1 game in February.

Both teams are banged up going into tonight's game but that is more or less where the similarities end. The Oilers are playing for pride and the Rangers are playing for the playoffs. These are two points the Blueshirts can't afford to lose on the road. The Rangers are going to have to take advantage of the Oilers' porous defensive coverage and mediocre penalty killing tonight and they're going to have to make sure to keep tabs on the young snipers in the Oilers' lineup.

Oh, if you need a reason to dislike the Oilers... oil ruins delicious shrimp:

Mike's Player to Watch: Cam Talbot

Talbot is getting his first start since March 13th, a 2-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild, in which Talbot had 24 saves on 26 shots. Talbot has been outstanding in his age 26 rookie season with the Rangers, he is 11-6-0 with a .937 SV % and a 1.76 GAA. The Rangers going to need Talbot to be solid against an Oilers team that has plenty of young guns on it.

Let's go Rangers. JUST LURK AT AWL DE URL ON MAH SHKRAMPS HEYUH.

Be kind to one another.
