New York Rangers News: Chris Kreider Recalled By The New York Rangers

The New York Rangers have recalled Chris Kreider from the Connecticut Whale.

According to Renaud Lavoie of RDS, the New York Rangers have apparently recalled Chris Kreider from the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League. This will be Chris Kreider's third go-around with the New York Rangers this season, as he was sent down two prior times during this shortened season.

At first glance, this recall obviously links directly to Brian Boyle, who left last nights game and never returned with an apparent knee injury. An early indication is that Brian Boyle will likely be out of the lineup tomorrow night, and Chris Kreider will likely slot in, in his place. If Boyle is indeed out for an extended period of time, it's a big loss for the Rangers, as he has been a big positive in the faceoff dot.

What's also surprising to see is that Kreider got the recall over J.T. Miller, who had a pretty solidified stint with the Rangers before he went down with a wrist injury. Miller was initially sent down because there simply wasn't enough room in the lineup after the moves at the trade deadline.

Either way, it should be interesting to see how John Tortorella works Kreider in tomorrow night.
