Glass appeared in two regular season games this year, including the home opener, where he totaled 0 points, 4 penalties minutes and registered 2 shots on goal.
The most notable outcome of this move is that the Rangers freed up some much needed cap space that will help them later on down the road. Unfortunately, the Rangers can't rid themselves of Glass' entire $1.45 million contract (unless he's claimed), but they do save quite a bit by burying him in the AHL if he clears waivers. If Glass clears waivers tomorrow at noon, and the Rangers elect to send him down, they will free up $950,000 in cap space.
