New York Rangers News: Staal Will Not Travel To Europe; Cuts and Prust Update

The New York Rangers announced today that defenseman Marc Staal will not be traveling to Europe with the team. Along with that, Staal also won't be traveling to Philadelphia for the pre-season game tomorrow night.

Tortorella and camp are still evaluating Staal's condition, and will receive an update in another 4-5 days. Although, Staal isn't ruling out the season opener just yet, and there still is hope. We hope all turns out well with Marc Staal.

The Rangers will also be cutting two more forwards, following the game in Philadelphia tomorrow evening. This will finalize the roster ,heading into the European exhibition games. Torts also gave an update on Brandon Prust, stating that he is "on track" to play some games in Europe.

Tortorella commented on recently cut J.T. Miller, and stated that he was really impressed with his game this year. Also stating that he is confident for the future with Miller. Dylan McIlrath also had a mention, and he stated that "he isn't ready" to make that next step just yet. They plan to play him in Europe to give him some more training, and to teach him.
