New York Rangers Noon Number: 0

The hot topic of the past and current week has been constant flow of trade rumor, after trade rumor. A lot of which have been linked to the New York Rangers, like Rick Nash and a few others. However, I believe that the safest bet for the Rangers is if they stay fairly quiet at the deadline, and not make any significant roster moves.

After last night’s win over the Boston Bruins, the Rangers gained a sizable nine point lead on the second place team in the Eastern Conference. As well as ten points up on the second place team in the Atlantic Division, the Philadelphia Flyers. This team has proven to be among the elite this season just with the talent that they currently have within the organization.

All of these rumors are suggesting players like Brandon Dubinsky, Chris Kreider, and numerous other important roster players/prospects should be packaged in a deal. But the fact of the matter is, are the Rangers really in a position to make a trade, or better yet, even need to make one? The best deal at this upcoming trade deadline is no moves at all, in my opinion. However, trades that involved players such as Wojtek Wolski or Jeff Woywitka could be looked at, as they deserve another chance.

The Rangers are playing the best hockey for the first time in a while and actually have proven themselves among the elite. Why try and break the bank or blow up the roster for outside talent that really isn’t a necessity? What do you guys think?
