With a brand new head coach in Alain Vigneault, and a "clean slate" mentality, the New York Rangers will open up their 2013-2014 season tonight against the Phoenix Coyotes. Unfortunately, they will be without their captain Ryan Callahan, and speedy winger Carl Hagelin. It'll be tough not having them in the lineup for the opening game, but it's one of the many conflicts the Rangers have to overcome.
Henrik Lundqvist will get the start in net for the Rangers, and Mike Smith will start in net on the other end for the Coyotes.
Player To Watch:
Jesper Fast will be making his NHL debut tonight for the New York Rangers, and all eyes will be on him. I'm sure there will be a ton of nerves, but he has looked tremendous so far for the Rangers, and it'll be nice if he has a strong first outing.
