New York Rangers Pre-season: A Look Ahead To Friday; Staal Update

The Rangers will hit the ice for their second pre-season game of the season, against the New Jersey Devils. Last night, they also faced off against the Devils, but unfortunately lost in overtime. Last night's line-up was VERY young, compared to the Devils line-up.

Tomorrow night, we should definitely get a look at most of our starters, like Brad Richards and Marian Gaborik. Along with them, Carl Hagelin, Dale Weise, Brendan Bell, Michael Del Zotto and Tim Erixon will be getting another look after last night's performance.

Tomorrow's lines look as follows:

Forwards:

Brian Boyle, Ryan Callahan, Ruslan Fedotenko, Marian Gaborik, Carl Hagelin, Kris Newbury, Brad Richards, Mike Rupp, Derek Stepan, Dale Weise, Wojtek Wolski, Mats Zuccarello

Defensemen:

Brendan Bell, Michael Del Zotto, Tim Erixon, Ryan McDonagh, Mike Sauer, Pavel Valentenko

Goalies:

Marty Biron, Chad Johnson

Follow after the jump for more and an update on Marc Staal

The Rangers also tweeted today that one of the young forwards, earned himself a spot in the European pre-season games. My guesses would have to be either Dale Weise or Carl Hagelin, they both had good games last night. As you probably noticed, both Brad Richards and Mike Rupp will be making their unofficial Rangers debuts tomorrow night. Also look for Brian Boyle to be matched up tomorrow with both Gaborik and Richards, as Tortorella wants to give him a shot up there as well.

There was almost a scare today as Marc Staal was not present at practice yet again. Although, Staal was at a doctors appointment seeing a specialist, that was conflicting with practice. Close call there, but all is well with Staal so far.

Be sure to join us tomorrow night in our open game thread, it should be a good one!
