New York Rangers Pregame: Lineup and Notes Against New York Islanders
We are only a few hours away from the most anticipated game of the day, New York vs New York. Several changes have been made by the Rangers this game, to cover for their injuries.
Jeff Woywitka will be skating in his first game with Ranger blue, in place of the injured Michael Sauer. Also by the sounds of it, Wojtek Wolski will be sitting out of this game as well, with a nagging groin injury. This isn't great news, as the Rangers already have a depleted defensive corp without Marc Staal.
Starting in net tonight will most likely be Henrik Lundqvist, and for the Islanders it is Evgeni Nabokov. Another noticeable change for the Rangers is Derek Stepan along side Brad Richards, and Marian Gaborik. Looking at the lines from practice, those three will be on the top line tonight.
Here is the projected lines for tonight's game:
Stepan - Richards - Gaborik | Dubinsky - Anisimov - Callahan | Fedotenko - Boyle - Prust | Rupp - Christensen - Zuccarello
McDonagh - Girardi | Del Zotto - Erixon | Woywitka - Eminger
Follow after the jump for more.
The top two lines for tonight, seem like that can work off of each other. The first line can provide the speed, and quick passing, while the "pack" line can provide the grit, along with scoring. Something else I would like to point out,
Trevor Gilliesis dressed after coming off the IR, this morning. Looks as if Capuano is sending out the goons for tonight. We are about two hours away from puck drop, and our open game thread will open at 6:30. Those going to the game tonight, let's make it a good one! Let's go Rangers! and we'll see everyone at 6:30 tonight!
