Game #12: Boston Bruins vs New York Rangers Open Thread

After having a day off to lick their wounds from Monday night’s defeat, the Blueshirts are back in action tonight. The reigning Presidents Trophy winners are in town, as Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, and the rest of the Boston Bruins are coming into Madison Square Garden.

After a dominant regular season that ended in a Divisional Finals playoff defeat to the eventual Stanley Cup winning Tampa Bay Lightning, the Bruins have picked up right where they left off. The team has only one regulation loss through their first 11 games, and are currently third in the league with an .818 points percentage (8-1-2 record). In order for the Rangers to earn two points tonight, they’ll need a complete effort on offense and defense, as well as a stellar performance from tonight’s player to watch:

Player to Watch: Alexandar Georgiev

Making his first start since a postgame altercation resulted in Georgiev punching Tony DeAngelo in the face and watching DeAngelo get waived, Georgiev is tasked with a tall order against one of the league’s best teams. If David Quinn’s squad wants to remain competitive tonight, they’ll need Georgiev to shake of the rust, use his blocker for saving rather than punching, and keep the puck out of his net.

Enjoy the game!
