Game #17: New York Rangers vs Philadelphia Flyers Open Thread
After three days off, the Rangers are back in the city of brotherly love for a rematch with Kevin Hayes, Ivan Provorov, and the rest of Alain Vigneault’s Philadelphia Flyers. Tonight’s contest will be another one featuring a patchwork defense corps for the Blueshirts, as news came out the K’Andre Miller will miss tonight’s game after being placed on the league’s COVID Protocol list.
David Quinn’s squad got the better of the first matchup between these two teams, a 3-2 shootout victory last Thursday. A win tonight would give New York its first three game winning streak of the season, and that will go a long way during this abbreviated campaign.
Player to Watch: Jonny Brodzinski
Brodzinski has been elevated from the taxi squad for the second time this season. After making his Broadway debut against the Pittsburgh Penguins earlier this month, Brodzinski will don the Rangers sweater for the second time this season. After going pointless in his debut, look for him to make an impact one way or another in tonight’s rivalry matchup.
Enjoy the game!
