Open Thread for Today's Games

Hockey is for lovers.

Today's Games

Sweden vs Switzerland, 7:30 AM EST.

Canada vs Austria, 12:00.

Norway vs Finland, 12:00.

Henrik Lundqvist, Carl Hagelin, Rick Nash, and Mats Zuccarello will all be playing hockey on Valentine's Day. Some heartbreaking news (see what I did there) has come out for Team Sweden. It was announced that Henrik Zetterberg, the captain of Team Sweden, will miss the rest of the Winter Games with a back injury. Sweden is already without the services of Henrik Sedin and Johan Franzen. Losing Zetterberg is obviously a big deal, it is going to be interesting to see what Sweden does with its lines. Perhaps Carl Hagelin will get a more prominent role in Sweden's lineup. I thought he had a great first game and made himself known with his speed and hustle and ability to chase down loose pucks.

Happy Valentine's Day to one and all. Enjoy your hockey today. I hope you aren't all buried under snow. Please use this as your open thread for all three of today's games unless we get another thread up for you guys for the noon games. Enjoy your Olympic hockey!!!

With injuries looking to spoil Sweden's Winter Games look for Henrik Lundqvist to step up and help get his team as deep into the tournament as he can carry them. Hank allowed two goals against Jagr and the Czech National Team in his first game, it'll be interesting to see how he fares against a Swiss team that has a great deal less firepower.
