Question time.
The last time we convene, a lot happened. The New York Rangers swung a trade for Pavel Dorofayev and drafted Latvian defenseman Alberts Smits with the fifth overall pick. They went on to add a number of other interesting prospects in rounds two through seven, putting together one of the better drafts (by immediate analysis) in recent memory.
Tomorrow free agency will open, and while the pool of available free agents looks a lot like Baghdad in 2003—bombed out and depleted—there are still some moves the Rangers can and are likely to make to add to their roster.
Now, after a few days to dwell on it, we’ll react to the NHL Draft, and to any free agency signings that happen tomorrow.
