Tonight marks the final preseason game on the New York Rangers schedule before they travel to Boston for some regular season hockey. The Rangers are coming off a shoot-out victory against the New Jersey Devils, while the New York Islanders' last game was their victory against the Blueshirts.
The Rangers' lineup tonight is very likely to look like what their lines will look like on opening night. Earlier, the team sent down five players to the Hartford Wolf Pack as they get ready to finalize the roster. Igor Shesterkin will play the entirety of tonight's game, and the power play units will remain the same as they did in training camp. The Islanders will deploy a mix of veteran and young players.

Player to Watch: Eeli Tolvanen
Last season marked a down year for Eeli Tolvanen, like many Seattle Kraken players, but his performance during the 2024-25 season. However, this did create the perfect buyilow opportunity for a physical player with some upside.
