Rangers Announce 2026 Rookie Camp Roster

With opening night less than a month away, the New York Rangers are about to hit the ice, and it starts with Rookie Camp. The Rangers rookies will take on the Philadelphia Flyers in a pair of exhibition scrimmages this weekend, Sept. 12 (7:00 p.m.) and Sept. 13 (5:00 p.m.). Both games will take place in Allentown, Penn., and will likely be available for streaming at PhiladelphiaFlyers.com.

Most of the names on this roster should be familiar to us by now. All of the Rangers' 2026 draft selections are listed save for Ben Macbeath, Charlie Morrison, and Ivan Patrikhayev. Macbeath and Morrison are both with their college programs in the NCAA, and Patrikhayev is with his KHL team in Russia.

Names to keep an eye on include top Rangers prospects Cole Beaudoin, Liam Greentree, Brody Lamb, Alberts Smits, Nathan Aspinall, and Tomas Chrenko. Beaudoin, Greentree, and Smits are all new to the Rangers organization and could look to compete for an opening night roster spot during preseason. Lamb is another Rangers draft pick who has been around for a while now, and is also in that mix. Aspinall is coming off an incredible last season in the OHL, and Chrenko has lots of potential to turn into a steal from this year's draft.

Some of the more intriguing names on the roster are Adam Sykora, Bryce McConnell-Barker, and Drew Fortescue. Sykora has three full AHL seasons under his belt and spent 11 games with the Rangers last season. He's surely there for the love of the game and to act as a leader of sorts to a younger bunch. Additionally, Fortescue spent the end of last season with the Rangers, but does not have any AHL experience.

Bryce McConnell-Barker and Dylan Roobroeck both have two full seasons of AHL experience on their resume, making them some of the more senior names on this Rookie Camp roster.

Among the lesser known names, Zakary Karpa was a 2022 Rangers draft pick, but he never signed his entry-level contract. He is on an AHL contract with the Hartford Wolf Pack, coming off a four point season in 24 games with them last year.

Dayne Beuker and Michael Suda are the two unsigned invites. Beuker attended development camp with the Rangers this summer and is an interesting name to keep an eye on. Here's what I had to say about him back in June:

One of the top prospects to go unselected from the 2026 draft class, Dayne Beuker was ranked 76th on NHL Central Scouting's list of North American skaters... A Team USA product, Beuker was a consistent producer for the Development Program, registering a total of 43 points across 62 contests. Beuker also represented Team USA at the U18 World Juniors this season, collecting two goals and three assists for five points. This is a player who doesn't have a ton of upside, but has all the fixings to be a really effective bottom-six forward—one the Rangers would surely value as he feels like a Jonny Brodzinski or Vinni Letteiri type. At 5-10, 170 pounds, Beuker is undersized but is regarded for his great hockey sense, work ethic, motor, and ability to make difficult plays.

As for Suda, he's a 24-year-old left-shot defenseman from Cheektowoga, N.Y. (near Buffalo) who spent four years at Cornell and has played in the ECHL ever since. Last year, he put up 39 points in 65 games with the Worcester Railers. He's an undrafted college hockey graduate who could be looking for an AHL contract or simply to gain more experience and work his way out of the ECHL.
