Rangers Game Thread: Rangers Vs. Senators
Honestly, who names their team the Senators?
In their last ten games the Senators are playing even worse than the Rangers! They're 3-5-2 but have a little bit more firepower up front than they had the last time we saw them. On deadline day the Senators acquired Ales Hemsky from the Edmonton Oilers and thus far the change of scenery has been good for Hemsky. In 5 games in Ottawa he's put up 7 points.
The Rangers are 4-5-1 in their last ten games and need to start winning now. One glance at the Metropolitan Division standings and/or the Eastern Conference standings should tell you all you need to know about the Rangers games this week; each game is as close to a "must win" as you can get at this point of the season.
Mike's Player to Watch: Rick Nash
Everyone seems to be talking about Rick Nash's current goal scoring drought so I thought I'd join in on the fun as well. Nash's last goal came against the 'Canes on March 7th and it wasn't exactly a beauty. It's hard to know what to expect from Nash with how banged up he's been since becoming a Ranger but the Rangers need him to start scoring more goals. If he isn't scoring goals he should be peppering the net with shots and picking up assists. No matter how he does it, we need Rick Nash to start making a bigger impact on games. Look for Nash to have a good game against a Craig Anderson-less Senators team tonight.
Let's go Rangers! Please just win.
