Rangers in Hot Pursuit for Marty St. Louis

Rangers are making a push to land the captain of the Bolts.

Well, today just got more interesting, huh?

It looks like Glen Sather is reaching deep into his bag of tricks to find a way to bring Martin St. Louis to New York. The package the Rangers are trying to put together is, to be honest, very worrisome. It looks like Sather and the Rangers are prepared to trade away a big part of the future to try and win now with the help of Marty St. Louis in the lineup.

Some key tweets regarding the hunt for Martin St. Louis:

I still don't see why Steve Yzerman would move St. Louis right now. The Bolts are a playoff team and without St. Louis they might be dead in the water. It might be in the Rangers best interest to wait until the offseason if they really want to land St. Louis because the price for him right now sounds very close to ridiculous.

St. Louis has one more year on his contract after this season at a cap hit of $5.625 million and is turning 39 over the summer. Should the Rangers sell a big part of their future, perhaps including their captain Ryan Callahan, for a better chance to win now and next season?

We'll keep you updated.
