Rangers Make Final Roster Cuts Waiving Raddysh, Garand
The Rangers are waiving Taylor Raddysh and Dylan Garand as the opening night roster is finalized.
The New York Rangers have made their final roster decisions, as they are planning to place forward Taylor Raddysh and goaltender Dylan Garand on waivers.

Team thinks Garand still has some developing to do and needs to be getting No. 1 goalie reps as a 24yr old. They're accepting the risk of losing him for nothing.
Signed to a two-year contract with an AAV $1.5 million during the 2025 offseason, Raddysh appeared in 68 games with the Rangers last season. During that season, he collected nine goals and ten assists for a total of 19 points. While that may not sound bad for a typical fourth liner, it's worth noting that a third of those goals came during one game against the San Jose Sharks in the first month of the season. Finishing the month of October with five total goals, Raddysh only found the back of the net again twice in December, and twice across January and February.

While Raddysh is a serviceable bottom six forward, the Rangers were well-stocked on the right side with Jaroslav Chmelař and Matt Rempe. Not to mention, younger talents like Liam Greentree, Cole Beaudoin, and Brody Lamb who are all beginning the season in Hartford.
As for the goaltending, the Rangers are risking losing their only promising young goaltender who is remotely NHL-ready by deciding to waive him over 32-year-old Joonas Korpisalo. With a surplus of teams that could benefit from goaltending help around the league (Edmonton, Winnipeg, and New Jersey, just to name a few), the Rangers are certainly taking a gamble by sending him to waivers.
Garand played the entirety of the first preseason game against the Devils where he made 28 saves for a .903 save percentage, allowing three goals against. Korpisalo also took on the Devils later in preseason, making 23 saves, allowing three goals, for a .870 save percentage.
Both Garand and Raddysh are expected to hit waivers this afternoon, meaning we will know by 2 P.M. tomorrow whether they will report to Hartford or spend the 2026-27 season with a different team. That said, the Rangers will be at a 24 man roster with Vincent Iorio still listed as day-to-day. Assuming he is also waived or placed on IR, it does appear the Rangers have their opening night roster:
