Rangers News: Ranger prospects continue to dominate WJC
Time to brighten your Sunday (I'm talking to you Giants fans) with some good news on the Rangers front, once again coming from the farm.
The United States U-20 team played Finland yesterday, with the winner getting the rights to move on to the semi-finals. The United States won 6-2 thanks to another Chris Kreider goal and two Derek Stepan helpers.
Chris Kreider continues to silence the doubters scoring yet another goal and finding the score sheet. Jess from the prospect park has some analysis of this game and says that he played very well despite a shakey first period.
And you can't forget Stepan who has registered 3 goals and 8 assists for 11 points, making him the highest scoring player in the tournament so far. Those 11 points, by the way, lead Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson (picked 10th overall in the 2009 entry draft by the Edmonton Oilers) by a point and Taylor Hall (projected to be the first overall pick in this year's draft) by 4 points. You can read the scoring leaders here.
Not bad eh? Stepan is slowly becoming the Rangers top prospect and Kreider is really making strides to getting there too. What do you all think?
