The New York Rangers have released an official statement announcing they have trimmed their training camp roster down to 41 names. The following six players have been assigned to training camp with the Hartford Wolf Pack which is set to begin today.

  • Jaroslav Chmelar
  • Jackson Dorrington
  • Case McCarthy
  • Adam Sykora
  • Kalle Vaisanen

None of these comes as much of a surprise, as those five skaters are all expected to spend the season with Hartford in the AHL.

Additionally, the Rangers have released veteran defenseman Andrej Sustr from his PTO after appearing in just one preseason game with the team. Considering how that one outing went, this also does not come as much of a surprise, either.

Lastly, these may have been the only official roster moves today but they likely won't be the last. According to Frank Seravalli, the Rangers have placed four players on waivers. Anton Blidh, Justin Dowling, Trey Fix-Wolansky, and Derrick Pouliot.

Assuming they clear waivers, Blidh, Fix-Wolansky, Dowling, and Pouliout will join the aforementioned names in Hartford for the Wolf Pack's training camp. This will leave the Rangers with a roster of 37 with three preseason games to go.
