Rangers Vs. Jets Preview: After Poor Performance In Buffalo, Rangers Look to Rebound Against Winnipeg

The New York Rangers and Winnipeg Jets will go head-to-head tonight as they battle it out for sole possession of eighth place.

The New York Rangers and Winnipeg Jets are scheduled to meet tonight at the MTS Center, where both teams will battle it out for sole possession of the eighth and final playoff spot. The New York Rangers are coming off a very disappointing loss where they controlled most of the play, but were unable to convert on their chances. They also got in a ton of penalty trouble, which shifted the momentum, and ultimately lost them two points.

Some Quick Thoughts:

- After sitting out two games to work on his conditioning, Roman Hamrlik will make his return to the lineup tonight. Matt Gilroy will be a healthy scratch tonight, as the Rangers continue to search for a serviceable sixth defenseman that can eat up minutes.

- With the exception of Marc Staal, the Rangers have a completely healthy lineup as Arron Asham has returned to full practices. He is expected to be a healthy scratch tonight, but don't be surprised to see him back in the near future. He has meshed well with Darroll Powe and Jeff Halpern, and he hopes to continue that when he returns.

- Henrik Lundqvist is expected to get the start once again, as the Rangers look to rebound and string together a few wins. It can easily be done with their upcoming schedule, and they need to continue to work as hard as they have over this last six game stretch. While the wins didn't always come their way, it wasn't because of a lack of effort.
