  • Fun fact: There are only five teams in the four major professional sports that share the name as a team in a different one of those sports. Two of them, the Jets (Winnipeg and New York) and the Rangers (New York and Texas) played a game of hockey. Do you know the others? Don't cheat and look it up. If you don't know, we'll answer at the end of this column.
  • For two periods, this was a see-saw game that neither team really wanted to win. In the third, the Rangers took control. But before we get to that, there were a couple of interesting things leading into this game:
  • I dunno, is this the goalie version of a player deleting any reference to his team on his Instagram account? Putting up an emo message on AOL Instant Messenger? Should we be worried Igor doesn't love the Rangers anymore?

  • I see you Mike Sullivan. We are deeply ensconced in the FAFO (look it up if you don't get it) portion of the season. So, sure, why not see what Adam Edstrom can do when put in a spot with more offensive responsibility? Hell, if the Swedish Condor can add reliable offensive jam to his elite size and good speed? Well, then sweet baby Jesus, that's a matchup nightmare. I'm also sure that it won't be fun for opposing defenders, especially smaller ones, to deal with him and Will Cuylle on the forecheck.
