Rangers vs. Wild: A Wild Birthday for J.T. Miller
The Rangers had been enjoying some positive vibes playing against struggling teams. Would the good times continue against Quinn Hughes and the Minnesota Wild?
- The returns of J.T. Miller (injury) and Taylor Raddysh (bereavement) to the lineup led to some interesting decisions.

- Against the Winnipeg Jets, Adam Edstrom was given a look on the second line. Last night he started his first NHL game at center. Clearly Mike Sullivan wants to learn more about what he has in the Swedish Condor and I'm here for it. While the Rangers have a lot of wingers within the organization, they don't have a lot of centers. If Edstrom can play center at this level, that's a very good thing. After the game, Sullivan said that the idea of a player with Edstrom's combination of size, quickness, physicality, and reach could be a real matchup problem if he can stick at center, and they're going to keep looking for ways to utilize him going forward.
- It's almost like in a season like this, you want to use games to see what you have in young players. What a concept, right, Peter Laviolette?
- Again, I don't need to see any more Urho Vaakanainen, though. He can go away.
- I also don't think it's meaningless that Braden Schneider has been moved ahead of Will Borgen.
