Rangers vs. Panthers: Miami Mika
Mika Zibanejad set records, the Rangers rolled in Miami, and the Winter Classic delivered one of the most unexpected outcomes of the season.
- I gotta be real honest with all of you: I did not see that one coming. It would not have been on my first 73 bet slips. In fact, my best friend texted me before the game asking what I was betting on and I told him I don't touch the New York Rangers because I can't trust them. But if I had to make a bet, none of them would be good.
- Just a note about the Winter Classic in general. I sort of roll my eyes at it these days. I think the NHL overdid it with the multiple outdoor games a year some years and it sort of lost its luster. But I do always end up enjoying the games the Rangers are in. Like, genuinely. The uniforms, the show, the coaches' jackets, the whole bit. The game being in Miami also added some extra flare and drama I was not expecting. Like these two things (they looked damn good in white):
