  • There have been many games in this 1-7-1 start at Madison Square Garden for the New York Rangers that they have deserved to win and have not. That was the first one they deserved to lose where they had an outside shot of somehow pulling off a win (mainly thanks to Jonathan Quick) but they did not.
  • That was the worst game the Rangers have played all year, bar none. Not even close.
  • Now, there were some things working against them. David Quinn was the head coach (Mike Sullivan needed to miss the game due to personal reasons); the Rangers were coming off a back-to-back from Columbus with travel the night before; the officials were either stupid, drunk, or both; and, did I mentioned David Quinn was one of the head coaches yet? Yeah.
  • "Scheduled losses" are fine and all, but this game was rather alarming.
  • I can stop myself no longer: We need to start having a dialogue about J.T. Miller. I know he might be hurt, but the man is essentially a non-factor offensively in most of these games. I have discussed this on the podcast before, but the Alexis Lafrenière hate train while the 32-year-old captain of the team is putting up a 37 point pace is wild to me. This is becoming a bigger and bigger problem that at some point is going to need to be addressed.
