Rangers Vs. Senators: The Rangers Played Last Night?

Notes from the Rangers loss to the Senators.

- Talk about the most relaxing 3-0 loss in the history of 3-0 losses. It's been a long time since the Rangers really haven't had anything to play for. No making the playoff implications, no seeding implications, no nothing. Just hockey. A full 60 minutes of hockey where you can enjoy the game relax and -

- OH MY GOD IS HENRIK LUNDQVIST HURT? THE CHILDREN, SOMEONE GET THE CHILDREN! SWEET JESUS SACRIFICE SOMEONE! DO SOMETHING! SOMEONE DO SOMETHING! OH HEAVENS ABOVE WHY?? WHYYY????

- Oh wait, he's OK. *breathing deeply* Whew.

- Seriously, that was some scary stuff. And the people who says "well, Cam Talbot was really good so we don't really need Lundqvist" is the first in line to be sacrificed into the volcano to avoid this from happening again.

- And that little scare is exactly why I thought it was a great idea to keep Mats Zuccarello, Rick Nash and Marc Staal wrapped in bubble wrap. Remember, there is a four call up limit the Rangers maxed out on, so that was the most players they could sit. And I love the gamesmanship of Vigneault saying they're all day to day. I love the playoffs, I really do. It's almost like a play.

- Did it look like the Rangers were interested in playing that game at all? It looks a lot more like trying to milk the clock and getting out of the game without an injuries.

- Kevin Hayes and Keith Yandle both buried glorious chances ... into the goalie. I'm not saying the Rangers didn't match the Senators' intensity level, but I am saying they looked like it was a public skate that didn't matter in the standings. Which, of course, it didn't for the Rangers.

- So there's one more meaningless game before the Rangers can rest up for four days and start their playoff push. It's not exactly a meaningless game for Washington (winning would give them home ice in the first round) but they're in the same boat as the Rangers in terms of just trying to stay healthy.

Not much more to say about this one. Thoughts?
