UPDATE: New York Rangers Confirm The Trade
OFFICIAL: #NYR have acquired defenseman Nick Ebert and a fourth-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Vladislav Namestnikov.
— New York Rangers (@NYRangers) October 8, 2019
Ebert spent the 2018-19 season with Örebro HK in the SHL and posted a line of 11-22-33 in 49 games. Prior to that he was in the KHL, and he also spent 158 games in the AHL posting 51 points.
Namestnikov skated 15:28 on opening night vs. the Winnipeg Jets, and just 11:32 during Saturday’s victory over the Ottawa Senators, so it is entirely possible he requested a trade because he’s in a contract year and would like an opportunity to maximize his value.
The Rangers currently have a roster of 21 players, and $4,292,001 in cap space, and created $3.25 million by making this trade.
