NWHL: Dani Rylan and Janine Weber of the New York Riveters Appear on NHLN

What's that on the TV? More Riveters!

There's no rest for the Riveters. After a delayed start to last Sunday's home opener against the Pride at Aviator Sports and Events Center there were fans to meet and autographs to sign and the entire team participated despite the late hour after a lopsided 7-1 loss to the Boston Pride.

With ice packs on their legs and smiles on their faces the Riveters made sure their fans, especially their young ones, went home happy. While talking to the media it was clear that the team was frustrated and disappointed with their effort, but they made a point to show their appreciation for an incredible group of fans that stuck with them through an hour and a half delay and stayed late on a school night to meet them.

Yesterday the New York Riveters general manager and the commissioner of the NWHL Dani Rylan sat next to New York Riveters' forward Janine Weber for an interview on the NWHL network.

I think they're just excited that one day they can be professional hockey players too now. They tell us they like to watch our games. They tell us they will be back. -Janine Weber

Cool note about the video of Gabie Figueroa's goal- it was filmed by Connor Murphy, my brother, who has been helping me with New York Riveters coverage for Blueshirt Banter.

However, the Riveters weren't done with television airtime after the featured interview on the NHL Network. They were also the focus of Bill Pidto's second intermission piece on MSG Networks during the Rangers and Sharks game. Before Sunday's home opener at Aviator Sports and Events Center Shenae Lundberg and Madison Packer appeared for a second intermission interview during the Islanders and Predators broadcast on October 15th on MSG Networks as well.

Today was another busy day for Janine Weber and she has spent most of it doing interviews and talking to the  media as the Riveters' "representative" for the NWHL's media day.

Hats off to the NHL Network and MSG Networks for doing their part to promote the league and grow the game of hockey.

The Riveters will practice Wednesday night and Friday night before their rematch with the Connecticut Whale on Sunday night at Aviator.

Let's go Riveters.
