Pregame: Game One of Riveters and Pride Isobel Cup Playoff Series

The puck drops at 7:00 PM for the first-ever NWHL playoff game.

Tonight the Riveters will take to the ice in Beverly, Massachusetts for the first game of their Isobel Cup Playoff series against the best team from the NWHL's regular season: the Boston Pride. No team scored more goals or allowed fewer goals than the Pride and no team allowed more goals and scored fewer goals than the Riveters.

Hilary Knight and the Pride will be a tough test for the Riveters who are coming into tonight's game with some big question marks about their lineup and the health of key players Morgan Fritz-Ward and Taylor Holze. Will we see the Riveters roll with six defenders and dress Amber Moore? Will we see Margot Scharfe, who played in the regular season finale against the Whale, stay in the lineup? Only time will tell.

The expected starting goaltender tonight for New York is Nana Fujimoto. Fujimoto has been outstanding this season for the Riveters when she's been healthy. All four of the Riveters' regular season victories have been with the Japanese star in the crease. The goaltending battle between Brittany Ott and Nana is something to keep an eye on tonight.

The regular season is over. All that matters now for the Riveters is being the better team for their next sixty minutes of hockey and finding a way to win Game One of their playoff series against the Boston Pride- a team that the Riveters defeated twice in the regular season in six meetings.
