Scoring Chances for Game 24 vs Florida
The New York Rangers came out of the gate incredibly slow, allowing the Florida Panthers to register the first four scoring chances of the game, including a ringing post off the stick of Shawn Matthias. After taking a 4 minute penalty, Sean Avery jumped out of the box, took a feed from Marc Staal, and registered the Rangers' 1st chance at 9:55 of the first, with the rebound landing perfectly on the stick for a goal by Derek Stepan. From that point, the teams traded chances throughout the game, even once the Rangers took a 2 goal lead off the stick of Ryan Callahan. The final tally, like the shot totals, favored the Panthers, 20-16, and 16-13 at even strength.
