I will be honest with you, it took a lot longer than I thought it was going to. It took a whole 65 games into the regular season. Through that span the Rangers have pieced together a 41-22-2 record. Good for 84 points, but not good enough for

In a somewhat surprising bit of news, the New York Rangers extended Alain Vigneault through 2020. This fanbase does tend to divide itself like oil and water on key subjects. Dan Girardi. Henrik Lundqvist. And, of course, Vigneault. I’ve been highly critical of Vigneault in this space. It’s

Well that NHL Trade Deadline sure was ... something. On the podcast last night I mentioned it had to be the most boring deadline of my life. The bigger moves happened the two days leading up, but overall there wasn’t activity in the league. A lot of teams that stood

No notes from the game last night. You don’t want them anyway. Instead we’re in full trade deadline mode. Wooo! The New York Rangers couldn’t sit pat. Pat of that might have been Kevin Shattenkirk going to Washington — making them late NHL favorites for the Stanley Cup.

Henrik Lundqvist won his 400th game the same way he’s won most of his games in his career: He carried the team on his back. Sure, the Rangers mounted a small comeback in the third period, but it was Lundqvist who kept the score close enough to make it

If you would like to exist in a world of reality then let’s make something clear: The New York Rangers are Stanley Cup hopefuls, not Stanley Cup contenders. The difference between the two is enormous. Now, since we’re in that world of reality, the NHL Trade Deadline is

With Kevin Hayes’ return aimed for the near future, we’re once again wading into a pool of forward uncertainty. Not over who is going to be playing -- of that, at least, we can assume one of Oscar Lindberg or Brandon Pirri will be sitting — but where those who are
