Traverse City Tournament 3rd Place Open Game Thread

The New York Rangers Traverse City squad beat the Minnesota Wild in a 2-1 effort thanks to a last-minute Jimmy Vesey goal -- he scored the Rangers first goal as well. That victory gave the Ranger an opportunity to play for the Traverse City Tournament championship, but Carolina swept the round robin for the group and they move on instead.

So the Rangers will take on Blue Jackets in the 3rd place game — remember, every team makes the “playoffs” — today to end the tournament.

Vesey, Robin Kovacs, Malte Stromwall and Pavel Buchnevich have led the way for the Baby Rangers so far. Sean Day has been relatively good and John Gilmour has shown flashes himself. Oh, and team captain Boo Nieves has had himself an eye-opening performance as well.

Hopefully the Rangers can take home third place.
