Trocheck Game Time Decision, J.T. Miller Still Out With Upper-Body Injury
The Rangers may be without their top two centers tonight as they look to end a four game losing streak.
When the New York Rangers take on the St. Louis Blues tonight at Madison Square Garden they will once again be without their captain, J.T. Miller. On top of that, Vincent Trocheck is a game-time decision.
Miller missed the Blueshirts' previous game against the Utah Mammoth and remains sidelined as he deals with the same upper-body injury. This is on top of what many believe was a lower-body injury he suffered in the preseason that he has continued to play through. Miller has underperformed through most of the season, but had his first multi-goal game against the Colorado Avalanche on the Rangers' dismal western road trip.
The Rangers left Trocheck out of morning skate as a precaution, but head coach Mike Sullivan stated he is a game-time decision.
Trocheck is a game time decision, Sullivan said. Miller is out.

After being an iron man for the Blueshirts, Trocheck has already missed 14 games this season. Since returning to the lineup, he's has recorded six points in seven games, although four did come in his first two games back.
Here is how the morning skate lineup looked with the two of them out:

Cuylle - Zibanejad - Lafrenière
Panarin - Pärssinen - Brodzinski
Sheary - Laba - Berard
Edström - Carrick - Raddysh
Gavrikov - Fox
Soucy - Schneider
Vaakanainen - Robertson
Without Miller and Trocheck, Mika Zibanejad will remain the team's first line center with Will Cuylle and Alexis Lafrenière on his wings. Juuso Parssinen will anchor the second line with Artemi Panarin and Jonny Brodzkinski.
The absence of Miller and Trocheck substantially weakens the Rangers' top six and goes to show how poor the team's depth is. Trocheck's questionable status is likely what led to the call-up of Brett Berard, who could make his season debut.
On a more positive note, Brett Berard is here and could make his season debut tonight for #NYR.
