He's a defenseman for Team USA in the World Cup, but this ad wants to know if the Rangers' captain has ever been anything more.
Come Sept. 17, the World Cup of Hockey will be upon us. In the meantime, rosters still have to be finalized, and - of course - hype must be generated.
Which is why Ryan McDonagh, one of two New York Rangers to thus far be named to Team USA (the other being Derek Stepan), sat down for a quick interview/promotion for the event.
His look says it all, doesn't it?
Although if you want to get technical, as a defenseman who has broken the 30 point barrier four times in his career - and if we're being honest with ourselves, it probably would have been five times had it not been for the lockout season - not to mention the 40-point mark once - he kind of is an offense-man. Or at least an offensive defenseman.
Yes, I'm overthinking this and McDonagh's face really is the only justifiable answer, but still, Team USA is in good hands is all.
Besides, this is a cute little ad!
