Welcome to Blueshirt Banter!

"The waiting is over!!!!!!!" - Sam Rosen, June 14th 1994

Yes, Ranger fans, just like that fateful night 15 years ago, your long wait is over, and SBNation is proud to bring you Blueshirt Banter, a brand new blog covering all things Rangers. Thanks to the great format here at SBNation, we'll be able to bring you plenty of features and information on not just the Rangers, but the NHL as well.

A little background on me, for approximately a year now, I've been a co-writer over at Big Blue View, SBNation's blog for the New York Giants. I still contribute there as well as authoring the site here. The Giants and Rangers are the two biggest loves of my sports life, so the way I look at it is I've got the two best hobbies a guy could ask for.

I've been asking SBNation for the chance to head up the Rangers blog for a long time, and I am grateful for the opportunity, and I will like to thank James Mirtle for having enough confidence in my ability to do this. I would also like to thank Ed Valentine from Big Blue View, because if not for him offering me the chance to be a co-writer over there, I probably wouldn't be here. Thanks Ed!

In the coming days, we'll be adding a co-writer, and I hope to bring you contributions from other people as well. As we all know, the Rangers, love them or hate them, are one of the most popular teams in the NHL, so it will take a group effort to make this the best Ranger blog on the net.

As we drop the puck on our first day, take a minute to check out the super cool logo for the site. It was created by the design team at SBNation, based on a design created by my son, Jimmy, so permit me a "Proud Dad Moment".

Be sure and check in with us every day; and don't forget to use the FanPosts to let us know your thoughts on the Rangers.

Also, if you have something on your mind, or have an idea for something you'd like to see on the site, feel free to email me. I answer every email. All I ask is that you don't add me to your joke lists, I get plenty of those.

Lastly, let's remember that we are all here because of our love for the Rangers. Say what's on your mind, but keep it civil. I expect we'll get plenty of visitors from other sites, so treat everyone with respect, and I'll handle the troublemakers. Think of me as your Jeff Beukeboom, clearing the crease.

Well, it looks like John Amarante is finishing up the anthems, so let's drop the puck, and Let's Go Rangers!!!!
