Wolf Pack Score Big Win Over Penguins 5-2
The Wolf Pack offense exploded for five goals as they knocked off one of the top teams in the AHL.
Coming off a comeback win over the Springfield Thunderbirds on Tuesday, the Hartford Wolf Pack continued their six-game home stand on Friday night. They welcomed the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to town for the third meeting between the teams this season.
The Wolf Pack weathered a tough first period and took a lead into the final frame. Two more goals in the final frame helped the Wolf Pack secure a 5-2 victory over the Penguins.
Poul Shot
The Penguins came out of the gate hot. They peppered Callum Tung throughout the opening frame, hemming the Wolf Pack in their own zone. However, Tung stood tall early.
Despite being heavily outshot, the Wolf Pack broke the ice in the contest. A cross-checking call against Connor Mackey and a holding the stick penalty against Aidan McDonough initiated a lengthy four-on-four sequence. Alex Alexeyev attempted to play the puck deep in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton zone, but he turned it over directly to Derrick Pouliot. The veteran defenseman collected the puck and uncorked a howitzer from the slot that beat Filip Larsson, giving the Wolf Pack the game's first lead.

The goal was Pouliot's first of the season.
However, the barrage of shots from the Penguins would eventually cost Hartford. About three minutes following Pouliot's icebreaker, Owen Pickering tied the game with a shot that snuck through traffic and by Tung. The score remained knotted at one heading into the first intermission.
Fix-Woah-lansky
The Penguins took their first lead of the night just over a minute into the middle frame. With Pouliot in the box for interference, Rafaël Harvey-Pinard deflected a Chase Pietila shot, sending it tumbling by Tung and into the net.
The Wolf Pack would answer back just over seven minutes later. Pietila lost control of the puck at the top off the offensive zone, and Trey Fix-Wolansky corralled it. Fix-Wolansky turned on the jets, speeding towards the net and slipping a shot through the five-hole to tie the contest at two.

The goal was Fix-Wolansky's sixth of the season, giving him the team lead.
"Tonight was a step in the right direction for my game," Fix-Wolansky told Blueshirt Banter after the game. "I'm gonna hopefully build off this game and keep getting better every game."
Blidh for the Lead
The Wolf Pack took control of the second half of the frame. During an extended sequence in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton zone, Cooper Moore took a long shot from the blue line. Anton Blidh cut to the front of the net and deflected the shot over Larsson to put the Wolf Pack back in the lead.

The goal was Blidh's second of the season, and it gave the Wolf Pack a 3-2 lead heading into the second intermission.

Moore becomes the third Wolf Pack player to record their first professional point this season, joining Gabe Perreault (A, 10/11/25 at WBS) and Carey Terrance (G, 10/22/25 vs. SPR).
The Pack Pull Away
The Wolf Pack found the net twice more in the final frame. Brett Berard was first, burying the rebound off a shot from Pouliot to give the Wolf Pack some much needed insurance just over the 13 minute mark of the third period.

The goal was Berard's second of the season, as well as his second in as many games. The assist also secured a three-point game for Pouliot, tallying a goal and two assists.
Adam Sýkora capped off the scoring just over two minutes later. Sýkora potted a feed from Blidh off an odd-man rush for his third goal of the season.

Five minutes later, the Wolf Pack secured a big 5-2 win over the Penguins.
"It was a four-line, six-D type win," Wolf Pack head coach Grant Potulny told Blueshirt Banter after the contest. "We got contributions up and down the lineup. We're continuing to keep trying to build momentum, and that was an important game for us."
