Yandle Signs 7 year, $6.35 AAV Deal with Florida
According to Pierre LeBrun the Florida Panthers have signed Keith Yandle to a seven-year contract with a $6.35 million AAV.

Yandle signing with his new Eastern Conference team means that the Rangers will receive a fourth round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft. The Rangers also received a sixth round pick in the upcoming draft in the deal that sent Yandle’s rights to Florida on June 20th.
It’s hard to believe that the Rangers couldn’t have found a way to make that contract work in New York, isn’t it? Well, that is because they could have found a way to make it work. All it would have required is- you guessed it- buying out Dan Girardi’s contract while they still can.

To call the way that the Rangers used and handled Yandle vexing is a massive understatement. The Rangers’ front office really dropped the ball on this. The price that was paid to bring Yandle to New York and what the club managed to get in return for him after failing to re-sign him is maddening.
What this means for whatever deal that Kevin Shattenkirk eventually does or doesn’t sign with his new team is unclear, but he will undoubtedly be making more than Yandle.
The Rangers will play the Florida Panthers three times next season. Yandle will return to the Garden in away jersey for the first time since becoming a Ranger on November 20th. That day sure will be a hoot, huh?
