Rangers place Adam Cracknell on waivers

Cracknell’s time in New York has come to an end.

Depth forward Adam Cracknell, who Jeff Gorton claimed off of the waiver wire two weeks ago, was placed on waivers today.

Cracknell’s career with the Rangers lasted just four games. The former Dallas Star averaged just 7:30 TOI/GP with the Blueshirts and failed to register a point on his sixth team in five years. Cracknell started the year with the Stars after scoring 16 points in 69 games last season, including 10 goals.

This moves comes after head coach Alain Vigneault chose to scratch Cracknell to dress seven defensemen in the last two games. There’s also been some talk among the Rangers beat writers of the team bringing up a center from the Wolf Pack. The leading candidates are Filip Chytil, Cristoval Nieves and Vinni Lettieri.
