Jesper Fast To Miss Next 2 to 3 Weeks With Quad Strain

NHL: New Jersey Devils at New York Rangers Andy Marlin-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Rangers are going to be without Jesper Fast for the next two-to-three weeks after the Blueshirts forward strained his quad vs. the New Jersey Devils.

The loss is a big one for the Rangers as Fast is having quite a sensational season. He’s appeared in 30 games scoring seven goals while adding nine assists for 16 points. Fast is a career 0.33 points per game player, but he’s been trending above that for the majority of this season.

As a result of this the Rangers’ lines in practice were scrambled ahead of Saturday’s game vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Alain Vigneault will meet with the media after practice, and at that time it will be more clear if a player will be called up from Hartford.

UPDATE: December 22, 1:41 p.m.

Tomorrow’s game is the Rangers’ last before the holiday break, while the Pack are home tonight vs. the Providence Bruins and play a 3:00 p.m. game vs. the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday as well.

The Rangers’ first game after the break is on Wednesday December 27 vs. the Washington Capitals at Madison Square Garden.
