We finally got clarity on the Matt Beleskey injury from his fight against the Devils — he has separated his shoulder and could miss as much as four weeks.
#NYR injury update: Matt Beleskey will be sidelined for two-to-four weeks with a shoulder separation.— NYR Stats & Info (@NYRStatsInfo) September 26, 2018
Beleskey was fighting for a roster spot on the team’s fourth line this preseason, and most felt he was pushing himself into the conversation. The hope — from me at least — was Beleskey would remove any notion of Cody McLeod making it into the lineup, but now that remains to be seen.
Here’s a look at how Beleskey’s injury happened.
Vinni Lettieri, however, might have just gotten a boost in his attempt to make the team out of camp.
More as it comes.
